Our mural

We were very excited today because we got to start work on our mural. Melanie came with 2 big boards that she had painted white. We then took turns to paint the backgrounds. We used sponges for the sky and ground, and paintbrushes to flick paint over the background. Our next job is to paint the flowers on. The boards already look beautiful. A big thank you to everyone who sent in cans for us to get test pots, or who just gave us test pots. And a huge THANK YOU to Melanie for working with us.

iPad learning

It was Room 17's turn to have the junior ipads this morning. One group of children used them for writing, and another group used them at reading time. We did some great work on them. Mr Robyns was very impressed with our writing. We get them once a week, so next week different children will get to use them.
Here we are using the 'Write NZ' programme. We took a photo and then wrote about it.

We are using the ipads at reading time.

Medal Winner

Congratulations to Macy who took part in the X- Race at the weekend and won a medal. She had to build a sandcastle, complete a blindfold challenge, do a dance and run a race. Wow!

Learn, Grow, Shine.

Congratulations to Noah, Caleb, Macy, Sophia, Lyjah and Natalia Week 2 and Week 3's certificate winners. Great work. Room 17 are very proud of you.

Library Visit

Our library day is on a Tuesday, and yesterday we had our first visit for Term 1. We met Miss Fa'a who works very hard to make sure that Peninsula Primary School has a great library for us to visit. We all got to take a book home. We can keep the book at home for a week. We are looking forward to returning next week.

Swan Plants

Today we went out into the garden behind our classroom with Room 16 to plant swan plants. We are planting swan plants because we want more butterflies to visit our garden. We want to say a big 'Thank You' to Eila and her mum Ammie for growing the swan plants for us. We would also like to thank Kristi and Abby who came to help us with our gardening.
